Women Elevating Women – Jan 15 & 16, 2015 – St. Paul, Minnesota

Women leadership 2015_000001The Need

Are you longing for thoughtful, honest conversation that leaves you feeling more whole? Women across generations are yearning for the opportunity to speak and release the burdens they have carried, share stories, share light and healing, see what’s possible, and give voice to women, as women and as leaders.

To reconnect, remember and re-imagine who we are and our role as women committed to bringing forth a new narrative with and for each other and for the generations that follow us. To nurture ourselves and each other as we live into new narratives where there are more powerful, influential women prominent and celebrated in every walk of life.

People

Young women, elders and every age in between, women of color and caucasian, families, friends.  Grandmothers, mothers, daughters, aunts.  Community and organizational leaders and workers, stay at home moms or any other variant of life experience. Women knowing there are different ways and willing to be in collective discovery of what they might be.

“When you’ve worked hard, and done well, and walked through that doorway of opportunity…you do not slam it shut behind you…you reach back, and you give other folks the same chances that helped you succeed.” – Michelle Obama

“If we want to see more women leaders, we must be personally prepared to share what successes we have already achieved. We must acknowledge that isolation does not make the strongest executive and that another woman’s accomplishments are not a direct threat to our own. We must learn to see the beauty and strength of our colleagues and to embrace their talents rather than resent them.” – Lindsay Saletta

Barbara (Bob-e) Simpson-Epps and Kathy Jourdain met in 2012 at an Art of Hosting Conversations offering in St.Paul MN. We felt an immediate sense of connection and set an intention to be in good work and relationship together.  Women Elevating Women has been calling us from many directions. It is with great love and compassion that we reach out to other women of all ages who feel the longing for a new, supportive story that calls out the best in all of us and all those we touch. We are inviting us all into generative conversational space, inspiring hopefulness while releasing burdens we have carried individually and on behalf of community for longer than we care to remember.
